1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (34) 941 5th Ave
Dublin Core
Title
1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (34) 941 5th Ave
Subject
941 Fifth Avenue — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the mixed commercial/residential building at 941 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from approximately 1900–1919, the three-story building is described as Victorian Commercial/Renaissance in style, with glazed brick on the facade and red brick on the side elevation. Notable features include a two-story wood-trimmed bay window, triangular pediments supported by consoles, stone sills, decorative cornices, and wood scallop ornamentation. The first-floor storefront had been substantially renovated with a large glass display window, corrugated metal base, and wood-shingled pent roof, while an original side entrance retained a pedimented transom. The survey identifies the building as an important structure in the Coraopolis Central Business District because of its distinctive bay-window unit and pedimented lintels.
