Dublin Core
Title
1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (50) Cahen's
Subject
Cahen’s Clothing Store, Fourth Avenue and Mill Street — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting Cahen’s clothing store at the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and Mill Street in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from approximately 1920–1939, the large three-story yellow-brick commercial building is described as Classical/Commercial in style. Architectural features include a flat roof, molded cornice, dentiled and corbelled brickwork, segmental-arched upper-story windows with stone sills, and a first-floor storefront remodeled with red-and-white baked metal panels, plate-glass display windows, and glass doors. The survey notes that the building is comparable in scale to neighboring commercial structures and serves as an important anchor for the block.
