Dublin Core
Title
1980 Allegheny County Historic Resource Survey (15) 1020 5th Ave
Subject
1020–1026 Fifth Avenue — Coraopolis Historic Resource Survey, 1980
Description
Pennsylvania Historic Resource Survey form documenting the commercial building at 1020–1026 Fifth Avenue in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania. Dating from the early 20th century, the three-story red brick structure is described as the largest building on the block. Architectural features include a flat roof with concrete coping, patterned brick spandrels, multi-light transoms, and a distinctive concrete moose head projecting from an oculus in the central parapet. Several second-story openings had been bricked in, while the first floor retained multiple storefronts with plate-glass windows and recessed entrances. The survey considered the building architecturally unremarkable apart from the prominent moose-head ornament.
